Message from the President of AIPS AFRICA on the occasion of International Sports Day for Peace and Development

The world of sport has stalled as the focus shifts from the joy of activity to the hope of survival.

It is now a different world, even if our thoughts to make it a better place remain firm and resolved. Indeed, such should be our mission at the heart of a rare calamity that has struck humanity.

Today, as we customarily strive to reorganize the power of sport to bring peace and development to humanity, we must firmly maintain the emphasis on the old line of health which is wealth.

All those who care about the survival of sport must not only spare a thought by providing support to those who need it, but must share the effort to find comfort for all those terribly shaken by the impact of COVID 19.

It is surely the moment for all of us to take the small step necessary to put our world back in safety. It is perhaps a providential favor that Africa tackles with care the devastating impact of this fear and which should serve as a distinct bugler so as not to lose our guards by making and keeping the fundamental obligations of cleanliness, but also by encouraging us to be vigilant. all around.

We all know that the world is now a global village and the cries of our neighbor can no longer be ignored. One day when sport should be the toast, we can only count on time to regain our zest for life. And for the whole family of AIPS AFRICA, may we continue to find the courage and zeal to use sport as a real vehicle for our cultural rearmament and our guide.

He served us well yesterday and he will serve us well today and tomorrow against the overwhelming odds that seek to change our world by one in that we are strong when we are together but one that drives us depressingly to stay at home. ‘gap to raise the head. Sport as we know it in Africa is each one of us, a common enterprise and nothing, we pray, should reverse the trend. Not even COVID 19.  Mitchell Obi Lagos April 6.
