As the countdown hits 12 days, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 14th African Armwrestling Championship has officially opened media accreditation for journalists, broadcasters, and digital content creators ahead of Africa’s biggest armwrestling event.
Slated to take place from July 23 to 27, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, the championship will welcome over 400 athletes and officials from 20+ African nations, including top pullers, para-athletes, and rising prospects from across the continent.

The LOC, in partnership with the Nigeria Armwrestling Federation, encourages media professionals to seize the opportunity to cover what promises to be Africa’s most dynamic and talked-about sporting event this July.
“Media professionals play a key role in spotlighting our athletes and telling Africa’s sports story to the world,” said Hon. Adeboye Adeyinka, LOC Chairman and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development. “This is more than a championship—it’s a movement, and we invite the media to be part of it.”
Accreditation closes on Wednesday, July 17, 2025.
