Masebinu Appeals To Ekiti Govt For Sponsorship

National boxing champion, Adewale Masebinu (aka Masevex) has sent out a passionate appeal to the government of Ekiti State for financial support and sponsorship of his world title-winning ambitions.

Sports247.ng learnt that the Nigerian light heavyweight champion, who won silver in kick-boxing at last year’s National Sports Festival in Abuja, is eager to see Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi lead the way in helping him get hands of support.

‘Masevex’ equally called on corporate bodies and individuals to assist him both financially and materially, while also disclosing that he needs a promoter and manager that will help him to brighten his career.

The Ikere-Ekiti-born boxer said that his ambition is to become the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champ, but the 28-year-old graduate of History & International Studies from Ekiti State University admits the journey so far has not been easy for him.

Masebinu moaned: “Since I turned professional three years ago, I do not have promoter or manager.
“I urge the government of Ekiti State, companies and well-to-do people in the society to support boxing and invest in it.

“My focus is to win the WBA, WBO and IBF and bring honour to Ekiti and Nigeria. I shall continue to train hard until I achieve my aim.

“I am the first Ekiti born to win medal in professional boxing, I dedicated this new feat to my governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi. I remain unbeatable.”
