The defeat follows an earlier 97–72 loss to FUS Rabat, leaving the Flyers with one win and two losses after three games in the competition.

Speaking after the closely contested encounter, Mohammed described the performance against Al Ahly as the team’s most encouraging display so far, noting visible improvement in execution and competitiveness.

“I think this is the best game we have played so far out of the three,” he said. “We faced a very solid Egyptian side, and they made better decisions at crucial moments.”

The coach pointed to late-game errors as the decisive factor in the outcome, stressing the need for better decision-making under pressure.

“We made a few mistakes down the stretch, and that cost us. But these are things we can learn from,” he added.

Despite the setback, Mohammed remains confident in his team’s chances of progressing, with two group games still to play. He believes reducing errors and maintaining their current level of performance could yield positive results.

“We still have two games left. If we can limit those mistakes and play the way we did today, I believe we can win both games,” he said.

With their qualification hopes still alive, the Flyers will now look to build on their improved performance as they approach the final stretch of the group phase.
