Maduka Okoye ‘disappointed’ after conceding 96th minute penalty

Maduka Okoye was brilliant in goal for Sparta Rotterdam against FC Emmen on Friday night despite been beaten by a 96th minute penalty, reports Sports247.

Okoye was in inspired form for Sparta, keeping his side ahead for much of the game after they went ahead in the 42nd minute through Laros Duarte.

Emmen kept pushing forward for an equaliser but where repeatedly denied by the Nigerian international.

Okoye was eventually beaten in the 96th from the penalty spot by Michael de Leeuw to make sure both sides share the spoils in a 1-1 encounter.

The result halted a run of three consecutive defeats for Sparta who are 13th position in the Dutch Eredivisie table. After the game, Okoye tweeted:.

“Disappointed not to get all 3 points. We go again on Tuesday!.”
