Despite guiding Nigeria to WAFCON glory, Madugu acknowledged the disappointment but emphasized perspective and continued commitment to national pride.
“I had expected that I would win the award. However, that’s not the end of life. We will continue to do our best and make our country proud,” Madugu said.
The Super Falcons’ tactician praised the competitive nature of the award and reiterated his focus on the bigger picture—sustained success, growth, and excellence with Nigeria’s women’s national team.
His comments reflected maturity and confidence, underlining that individual accolades remain secondary to team achievements and national progress.

While the CAF honour eluded him this time, his achievements continue to resonate across the continent.
With his sights firmly set on future challenges, Madugu reaffirmed his dedication to building on recent success and inspiring the next generation, as the Super Falcons look ahead to maintaining their dominance on the African stage and beyond.
