Dayo Enebi Achor played down speculations of a rift between forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman, describing the situation as a non-issue that was quickly resolved.
“There is no problem whatsoever in our camp,” Achor confirmed on Tuesday evening.
“Whatever people perceived as a crisis between two brothers was easily resolved a couple of hours later. Everything is fine and we are currently in training.”
Rumours of tension emerged after Osimhen was seen gesturing towards Lookman shortly before a corner kick during Monday night’s Round of 16 encounter.
The incident sparked widespread conjecture across traditional and digital media platforms, despite Nigeria’s dominant performance that secured a place in the quarter-finals.
Achor also refuted claims that striker Akor Adams had abandoned the team camp.
Adams, who scored his first-ever AFCON goal in the match against Mozambique, was said to have briefly left the camp to attend to a family matter.
“He took permission to visit his mother, who was hospitalized here in Fès, and returned in less than an hour,” Achor clarified.
On the pitch, Osimhen delivered a standout display, scoring twice to take his international tally to 34 goals in 50 appearances—just three shy of the late Rashidi Yekini’s all-time Super Eagles record of 37 goals.
Lookman also shone, adding a goal and three assists to his impressive tournament statistics.
All 26 available players took part in Tuesday evening’s training session at the Sardienne Complex, with only young defender Ryan Alebiosu continuing his recovery.
Nigeria will travel to Marrakech on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s quarter-final clash against the winner of the tie between Algeria and DR Congo.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 5pm as the three-time champions continue their quest for continental glory.
