Lobi Stars Will Work Harder To Recover From Home Draw With Bendel Insurance – Coach Agagbe

Lobi Stars of Makurdi coach, Eugene Agagbe has declared that he and his players will work harder to recover from last weekend’s goalless draw at home with Bendel Insurance.

Agagbe admitted it was an unexpected result that saddened many Lobi Stars’ fans, but urged them to take it in their stride.

With the Middle Belt outfit standing tall in second position on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table, Agagbe reasoned that they are still in contention for the title.

He shot a look at this weekend’s fixture away to Gombe United, who are 20th and last on the log, in contrast with second-placed Lobi Stars and Insurance FC in ninth, heading into match day 32 fixtures nationwide.

Incidentally, while Agagbe’s team failed to score against Insurance FC for the second time this season, having lost their first-round tie 1-0 in Benin City, Gombe slumped 4-0 away to Kano Pillars, thereby confirming the current gap between them and Lobi.

All these factors give Agagbe hope that Lobi Stars can still finish top of the log at the end of this season, even as he vowed to lead his side’s recovery charge this Sunday in Gombe.

Agagbe said, “I still thank God Almighty because where I am still shows that I am going also to be in serious contention.

“I believe in God that, at the end of the day, my aim will be achieved.

“We are also going for away games. Despite our last home draw, we still give thanks to God Almighty because we have gone away to win before, and we have gone away to draw.

“So, it is not something so bad for us to also draw at home. We take it in good fate.

All we are going to do is to continue to work harder and harder; so that we can achieve our goal at the end of the season.”
