Sunday 23rd August 2020 at The Banquet Hall of Benue Hotels Makurdi, The Lobi Stars FC family was thrown into another mood of celebration as The Executive Vice Chairman of The Club Mr. Mike Idoko bags yet another merit award conferred on him this time by The Benue Coalition for Good Governance as “BEST FOOTBALL MANAGER OF THE YEAR”.
This award is the 4th in less than a year from different reputable organizations. The award (s) goes to show that the recipient is blessed with a rare gift and track record of performance in his chosen profession as a football manager of excellence.
Recall, Lobi Stars Football Club had a good run in the canceled NPFL 2019/2020 as they constantly maintained the 3 top spots on the log till the COVID-19 Pandemic truncated the league, The Club lost out of the continent via a controversial PPG Mechanism coefficient that catapulted Enyimba from the 5th to the 3rd and now to 2nd position according to the official PPG Table released by the LMC.
Despite having lost out of the continent, Benue Coalition for Good Governance saw the performance of Mr. Mike Idoko, The head of management of the Club worthy of been rewarded.
Benue born international female footballer Miss Francisca Ordega a co-recipient and the second recipient of the sports segment of the awards received The Award of ” BEST FEMALE FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR” as posed in the within the picture.
Speaking to Lobi Stars media, Mr. Idoko said, Awards are not meant for ego massaging but should be a spur for greater performance, as such he is looking at the award as a challenge to brace up for a greater performance in order to further justify the series of awards conferred on him.
