Leon Balogun Back and Better; Feature for Aris Limassol in League Opener with a Victory against Apollon

The 36-year-old, Leon Balogun penned a one-year contract with the Light Brigade in the Cypriot First division.

Balogun was released last month by Rangers following the expiration of his contract. The Nigerian had two stints with the Gers, first between 2020/22.

The experienced centre-back won the Scottish Premiership title and Scottish Cup during his first spell at the Ibrox. Balogun rejoined the Light Blues two years ago and won the League Cup last term.

He reunited with his former Rangers teammate Connor Goldson at Aris Limassol.

Leon Balogun feature for 90 minutes for Arris Limassol as they defeat Apollon 3-1 in the league opener. Goals from C. Goldson in the 45th minutes and Jaden Motnor 46th minutes effort was capped with Dennis Bakke Gaustad additional minutes goal gave the light brigade side the first league win sitting comfortably on the Cypriot league table.

Aris Limassol have won the Cypriot title once in their history. They lost out to AEK Athens in the third qualifying round in the UEFA Europa Conference League after 2-2, 3-1 (5-3 on aggregate)
