Laws Of The Game: ABS Takes Players To Class On New Amendments

A Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), referee, Maruf Afolabi, on Tuesday lectured players and officials of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, on the new amendments to the laws of the game ahead of the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

Afolabi, an assistant training officer at the Kwara Referee Council, told the players to always exhibit good characters from the dressing room.

The NPFL referee began his lecture with Law 3 (The Players), where he told the coaches that they can now make five changes as against the previous three changes, but the changes must be done only thrice.

He also reminded the players of their equipment and asked them to jettison whatever they must have been seeing on different leagues as far as dressing is concerned, noting that what is applicable in Nigeria is different from other leagues abroad.

The Nigeria Premier league referee also took the players on fouls, offside, and handballs.

He urged the players to be of good conduct at all times as their success in the season depends on their good character.
