Lagos State Sign MOU With France On E-Games

The Government of Lagos State and that of France have sealed a bilateral agreement that will see e-sports players in Lagos compete with other players around the world to earn fortunes from the money-spinning industry.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and French ambassador to Nigeria, Emmanuelle Blatmann, Friday, signed a memorandum of understanding to enable e-sports players to compete for money with other players around the world. The partnership came with excitement as many players tagged it as long overdue.

According to the agreement, the French gaming partners will deliver a top-grade online video game infrastructure that will enable gamers in the state to migrate into being competitive players across all online leagues.

E-Sports are organized and very competitive video games played across the world in real-time with a wide range of audiences around the world. In the statement of the Lagos State Government, it’s highly lucrative. Hence, the agreement enables its young citizens to make a fortune out of the multi-billion dollar industry.

According to the Lagos State Government, over 42 million e-sports players are in Nigeria and Lagos can boast of a large number of that figure. Therefore it’s in the good interest of Nigerians, Lagosians in particular, to not just casually participate but also can invest resources to participate in online competitions.
