The vice-chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Mr Dotun Coker has spoken at length to explain all factors that accounted for the ongoing presentation of branded footballs to secondary schools in the metropolis.
The LSFA second in command told Sports247 after the first presentation at Igbobi College near Yaba, Lagos that the specially branded packages are part of an initiative that was recently introduced by Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Coker enthused, “I feel great, and I’m happy that CAF has looked back and directed that we have to resume fully the process of building football talents from schools.
“This is a good development for us and we are happy with it. So, Lagos State Football Association fully aligns with this new institution, vision and mission that CAF has initiated.”
The Lagos FA top shot then gave details of the presentation schedule, which he said began at Igbobi College this week and will spread to other areas of the state in the coming days, with high hopes that CAF would also provide more balls for phase two of the process after the ongoing first stage.
“We first went to Igbobi College to present five CAF match balls to the school. It’s an initiative that marks the beginning of CAF’s school championship programme in Lagos State, and we are happy about it.
“Apart from Igbobi College, we will also present balls to Epe Grammar School on Tuesday, March 10th, and Badagry Grammar School on the 11th of March.
“This is the first phase, and I am sure more balls are coming from CAF. it means more academic institutions that align with the vision of school football will be beneficiaries in future deliveries,” Coker projected.
