The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has intensified preparations for the second edition of the Lagos Ex-Internationals Cup following a courtesy visit by members of the organising committee to the Founder of the Bet9ja Foundation, Hon. Kunle Soname.
The delegation, led by LSFA Chairman and Committee Chairman, Hajji Gafar Liameed, visited Hon. Soname on Friday to formally present the newly crafted giant Ex-Internationals Cup trophy at his office, marking a significant step towards the commencement of the competition’s second edition.

Speaking during the presentation, Hajji Liameed described Hon. Soname as a major asset to Nigerian football, commending his consistent contributions to youth development and social empowerment.
He noted that Soname’s initiatives have played a vital role in addressing youth restiveness and creating opportunities that have helped many young people build sustainable careers.
In his response, Hon. Kunle Soname expressed appreciation to the LSFA for the visit and reaffirmed his support for the Lagos Ex-Internationals Cup.
He stated that the initiative aligns with the Bet9ja Foundation’s vision of community development and its commitment to the welfare of ex-international footballers.
Hon. Soname also accepted the proposal to support the tournament and announced the appointment of a director from the Bet9ja Foundation to work closely with the Lagos FA.
The collaboration will begin with a working visit aimed at fine-tuning plans, logistics and agreeing on the official kickoff date for the competition.
The meeting further underscores the LSFA’s commitment to strengthening corporate partnerships as part of its broader strategy to promote football development across Lagos State.
