Lagos Council Boss Backs Ejigbo Community Cup

The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Honourable Monsuru Oloyede Bello has thrown his weight to support Community football competition which tagged Obe Lekansi Cup.The tournament which involves wards in Ejigbo would commence on October.The tourney was part of the Bello’s programme for the youths if he reelected as the council boss of Ejigbo LCDA

Addressing the members of management committee of Ejigbo Grassroots Association headed by Ahmed Shekoni that visited him recently in his office,Bello said the competition would have commenced some weeks ago but due to the just concluded local council poll in the state,the championship was put on hold.

“Let me use this opportunity to thank the organizing committee for the support given to us in our last local council poll in Lagos and I am happy that our preparation towards the elections was not in vain.

Once again I need to appeal to the organisers to give us two months ahead to prepare well for this competition.This is the first edition of the tournament and we want it to be better organized,”he said.

Bello also promised that the tournament would be sponsored by the local council annually and urged the organisers to put measures in place before the commencement of the tournament.

Responding, Shekoni who presented the trophy to the council boss thanked him for showing interest in youth and sports development in Ejigbo and its environs saying that what the council boss did in his first tenure was a clear indication that he deserves second term in office.

He also promised the council boss that the organising committee are equal to the task and ready to make the inaugural edition a memorable one.

“We are here to officially congratulate you on your recent success you achieved at the last council poll.Secondly we are also here to receive your support on the competition which you have done in your speech. We promise to make the tournament a memorable and better organized,” he said.
