“Lagos Can Do Better Especially In The Aspect of Traffic,” says Gernot Rohr, Promises Nigerians Good Football in The World Cup Qualifiers and Says “No Time To Test New Players Anymore.”

“Lagos did well but still have to improve. It wasn’t easy because of the traffic,” said the coach of the Super Eagles to Sports247, Gernot Rohr after the team completed its AFCON qualifiers with a 3-0 over Lesotho in Lagos.

The game was played in the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos after twelve years the Super Eagles last played in Lagos with games holding in other states such as Edo, Akwa Ibom, etc. The Super Eagles were camped in the Eko Hotel and Suites and had to drive all the way down back and forth from the Island to the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere to train, rest, and back for the match.

The World Cup qualifiers have been set to begin tentatively in May with the first set of games (MD1 and 2) to hold in June Nigeria tackle Liberia at home, most likely Lagos and the Central African Republic away, and Rohr raised Nigerians hope.

“The world cup qualifiers will be starting soon and I think we will be able to do well. You should expect good football again on the pitch I hope,” Rohr said. “We cannot try new players now, it’s too late as it’s getting too serious world cup qualification,” he added.

The Super Eagles finished the AFCON qualifiers with four wins and two draws, having a record of no loss away which the coach emphasis that the team must continue the same way even though winning all ones matches might not always be possible.
