“What a game! We came prepared, but this game needs more than preparation,” Ruth said. “I’m personally loving it, and I believe we’re all just getting into the game. It’s only the third week out of 13, so there’s still a long way to go.”
Despite the setback, Ruth expressed confidence in her team’s resolve, emphasizing that the Showtime Flag Football League is about growth and consistency as much as it is about results.
“The league is very competitive, and our team will go back, talk to ourselves, and see how we can get better results next week,” she added.
Ruth’s calm determination mirrors the spirit of Showtime Flag Football — a league redefining Nigeria’s sporting culture through inclusivity, skill, and entertainment.
As the Showtime Bowl Series XIII progresses, players like Umeri Ruth are proving that flag football in Nigeria isn’t just a fast-growing sport — it’s a movement built on passion, discipline, and progress.
