Nigeria Women registered a convincing 47-run victory over Malawi Women in Match 26 of the Kwibuka Women’s T20I Tournament 2025, held at Kigali to take their wins to four out of seven matches, boosting their chances of making it to the semi finals.
The triumph was powered by a strong all-round performance, led by Muhibat K Amusa, who was deservedly named Player of the Match.

Opting to bat first, Nigeria Women posted a competitive 107 all out in 19.3 overs.
Despite regular fall of wickets, the Nigerian side managed to maintain a steady scoring rate that kept the scoreboard ticking. Contributions came from multiple batters, ensuring the team reached a defendable total on a challenging pitch.
In response, Malawi Women struggled to build momentum and were restricted to 60 for 9 in their full quota of 20 overs.
Nigeria’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout, with disciplined line and length, making run-scoring difficult for the Malawian side.
The Nigerian fielders backed their bowlers with a sharp display on the field.
The standout performer, Muhibat K Amusa, played a key role in the Nigerian win with her impactful contributions, which ultimately tilted the game decisively in her team’s favor.
With this win, Nigeria Women continue to bolster their chances of making into the last four as they face table topping Uganda on Wednesday.
Uganda continued their strong showing in the tournament with another win over Zimbabwe on Tuesday taking their wins to six out of six keeping their unbeaten record intact and as they seek to consolidate their pole position of making it into Semi Final against Nigeria.
