In an exhilarating showdown at the Dolphin Sports Hall in Punch Estate, Lagos, Kwara Vets emerged victorious over ANBB Philippines to clinch the title at the 2023 Independence Day Veteran Basketball Competition.

The final match of this highly competitive tournament witnessed a neck-and-neck battle, with Kwara Vets narrowly defeating ANBB Philippines by a score of 46-43 to hoist the championship trophy.

To reach the finals, Kwara Vets displayed their prowess by defeating VOA Abuja with a final score of 43-36, while ANBB Philippines secured their spot by edging out OBV Oyo with a close scoreline of 39-38.

In addition to the main competition, an exhibition match between the Hoops Dream team from Ibadan and the Dolphins added to the event’s excitement. This friendly encounter concluded with a score of 22-17 in favor of the home team, the Dolphins.

The Independence Day Veteran Basketball Tournament, which focuses on veteran basketball players, has been a cherished tradition for approximately eight years.
