Kwara United of Ilorin’s head coach, Tunde Sanni has raised the ante ahead of his side’s second leg clash with Asante Kotoko of Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup, as he believes his team cannot be stopped by the visitors.
Sports247 reports that, though The Afonja Warriors have to play their home fixture at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, as their preferred ground in Ilorin could not get approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Sanni insists his players are poised to cruise into the next round.

He also downplayed the fact that they conceded four goals in the first leg and, considering that they also scored three of their own, Sanni stressed that Sunday’s game in The Rock City will see his players show what they are truly made of.
Sanni acknowledged, “For us to have conceded four goals means they really tried, but we also scoring three goals at away also means we tried as well. When it comes to the second leg, we will get a better result.”
The Kwara State-owned club’s tactician further declared that he and his players know what is at stake, as they aim to continue on the path that saw them enact a record earlier this year, when they won the Nigerian FA’s Federation Cup for the first time in their history.
Sanni added that the major reason why his team conceded four goals during the first leg was because his usually reliable players failed to rise to the occasion; but he then assured the club’s teeming fans that all their weaknesses will be rectified before Sunday’s 4pm kick-off in Abeokuta.
The veteran gaffer asserted, “All I know is that Kotoko cannot stop us. That I am sure of, because we are determined. It’s true their team is tactically sound, but you can’t write us off as well.
“Most of our star players did not play well in the first leg, and that’s why we conceded those four goals. But, they will fall in Nigeria because we know how to psyche ourselves up and play the game very well. We will not lose. That’s my own belief.”
