Kwara United have sent a strong message to their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) rivals after unveiling 16 new players ahead of the 2026/27 season, with club chairman Kumbi Titiloye declaring that nothing short of the league title and the President Federation Cup will satisfy the Harmony Boys.
The unveiling ceremony, held at the club’s secretariat in Ilorin, marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Afonja Warriors as they look to build on last season and establish themselves among Nigeria’s elite clubs.
Speaking during the ceremony, Titiloye revealed that the club embarked on an extensive recruitment exercise following the departure of several players whose contracts expired, while retaining the core of last season’s squad to maintain stability.

The ambitious recruitment drive saw Kwara United strengthen every department of the team, bringing in experienced NPFL campaigners alongside exciting young talents.
Among the headline arrivals are former Rangers International forward Jerry Alex, ex-Bendel Insurance duo Peace Dewan and Anthony Nnamdi, Nasarawa United striker Benjamin Jack, Ikorodu City forward Ajibola Ayomade, and Malian goalkeeper Ouattara Khalifa, who adds international experience to the squad.
The Harmony Boys have also retained 16 players from last season, ensuring continuity as the club seeks to blend experience with fresh talent in pursuit of silverware.
Titiloye insisted lessons have been learnt from the previous campaign, promising supporters that the club will approach every fixture with greater determination.
“We are treating every game like a World Cup final. The mistakes of last season will not be repeated,” he added.
The chairman also acknowledged the continued backing of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Kwara State Sports Commission, describing their support as instrumental to the club’s growing ambitions.
Kwara United’s aggressive transfer strategy underlines the increasing competition expected in the 2026/27 NPFL season, with several clubs strengthening their squads in pursuit of continental qualification and domestic honours.
For the Harmony Boys, however, the objective has already been made clear.
After reinforcing the squad with 16 new faces while keeping the nucleus of last season’s team intact, Kwara United believe they now possess the quality to challenge on all fronts and end the campaign with major silverware.
