He further disclosed that his love for writing and broadcasting was the biggest motivating factor that made him take up the challenge, despite also having to accept a pay cut at his next port of call.

Daniel recalled, “Before my story began as a journalist, I was a lecturer at the University of Abuja, but I left lecturing because of my love for media activities.

“I left my job as a lecturer, where I was earning N126,000 a month to join Frank Ilaboya as a freelance journalist with a slashed salary.”

However, the vastly experienced public relations guru, who has also worked as an online journalist, pointed out that he had a strong belief he would be successful in the media world.

“I just had a strong conviction that I was going to make it big with journalism. I knew that I had the right voice quality for broadcasting on radio, which I held unto strongly.

“My writing skills then came into bear when I was working with Samm Audu as a foremost online journalist in Nigeria,” Daniel recounted.

He gave thanks to God that it was just a few days that he opened his own online platform that former sports minister, Chief Sunday Dare gave him his first civil service job as an image maker.

Daniel reminisced further, “When I became the head of sports at ITV, I opened my own outfit, which I called CKD Media. That was what I was doing until that fateful day on August 6th, 2019, when Chief Sunday Dare called me.

“I was surprised that the minister of sports was calling me, and he shocked me further by revealing that he had appointed me as his special assistant media.”

Daniel further revealed that he later worked under the next sports minister, Senator John Owan Enoh as well as current NSC chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, before he was redeployed to Honourable Olopade’s office.
