The Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria (KBFN) has been thrown into mourning following the tragic loss of one of its board members, Hon. Abdullahi Trigger, and several members of the Kano State sports contingent, who were involved in a fatal road accident while returning from the just concluded National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

In a heartfelt statement, the President of the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria, Dr. Mykel Eneduwa, expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended the Federation’s condolences to the Kano State Government and the bereaved families.
“It is indeed a dark day for the kickboxing family in Nigeria,” Dr. Eneduwa stated. “Hon. Abdullahi Trigger was not only a committed board member but also a passionate advocate for the development of martial arts in Nigeria. His loss, alongside other dedicated athletes, leaves an irreplaceable void.”
The tragic accident, described as a ghastly motor crash, has sent shockwaves through the entire Nigerian sports community. The victims had just participated in a successful festival celebrating national unity and grassroots sports development when the unfortunate incident occurred.
The KBFN board urged all kickboxers, martial artists, and Nigerians at large to say a prayer for the souls of the departed, and to remember their contribution to the growth of sports in the country.
“May Almighty Allah grant the deceased eternal rest and give their families the strength and fortitude to bear this monumental loss,” the statement concluded.
