KG Sports Academy: Victor Thompson Inspired By Award

KG Sports Academy Enterprising Midfielder Victor Thompson has said his recent array of awards is inspiring and motivating him to do more.

The 17-year-old who joined KG sports Academy last October was recently Named the most Consistent player in the Academy and on Sunday he was voted the Most Valuable Player in the finals of the Valentine football match which his team prevailed 3-1 on penalties after it ended 1-1.

” I feel good actually, but I still feel I have a long way to go. This is just the beginning. I am really thankful to God for this opportunity to do what l love best, playing football has been my passion from childhood and to win this award is inspirational and will motivate me more” The Unilorin Undergraduate Said.

Victor Thompson was awarded back-to-back MVP as KG Sports Academy won the Doris Nwadiolu Memorial Cup in January and then crowned it with another Sterling performance for Ibadan Heroes against Agbor Warriors in the Valentine Football Cup match.

“But the awards and recognition right now, is what is motivating me even more that I can go on and on and reach the highest level of football by God’s Grace🤲🏽. Keeps me wanting to put in more effort and trying to make my game hit the top-notch because a player always wants to win. I am looking forward to more awards in my footballing career, but for now, my focus is developing myself to become a better player so l can attract club scouts. So this award shows that people are taking note of what I do on the pitch and so l want to do more” Victor Stated.

Within three months of joining the academy, Victor played a pivotal role in Helping Ika South Football Team to Runners up trophy in the 2020 Ika Unity Cup and two weeks later was also a runner-up winner for Ika South Ward 2 in the 2020 Gov Okowa football tournament.
