Kelechi Ihenacho Down With Injury, Ruled Out For ‘Few More Weeks

Celtic of Scotland attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho is facing another setback in his search for a revival of his chequered career, as the embattled former Golden Eaglets’ sensation has been knocked out by injury.

Sports247 gathered that Iheanacho, who moved to Celtic in the summer, after failing to make the best of his previous transfer to Sevilla of Spain and short-term loan spell at English lower division side, Middlesbrough, has been out since October and is set to miss ‘ a few more weeks.’

This much was confirmed by Celtics’ new interim coach, Martin O’Neill, who said the forner Taye Football Academy of Owerri and Columbus Crew of USA product, who previously played for Manchester City and Leicester City of England, will not be part of Sunday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock.

He added that ‘Senior Man Kelz’ has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury during Celtic’s UEFA Europa League match against Sturm Graz of Austria last month.

Iheanacho consequently missed the Scottish champions’ last four games across all competitions and is set to be out for at least another two weeks, as he continues his recovery.

O’Neil stated, “He is going to be out for a few more weeks. Obviously, after Sunday, we’ve got this fortnight break and we’ll see how things go from there. But he certainly won’t be available for Sunday.”
