Shooting Stars Sports Club chairman, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, has called for prayers and support from the club’s supporters as the Oluyole Warriors prepare for their CAF Confederation Cup clash in Tunisia.
Speaking from Sousse, while the team travelled onward to Sfax ahead of this weekend’s encounter, Salami expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparations and the facilities available to the Nigerian representatives, Sports247 gathered.
“It’s been okay so far and the facilities here are good for effective training, and our boys are ready,” the chairman said.
With the continental assignment fast approaching, Salami stressed that the objective is straightforward — Shooting Stars must secure a result that will see them progress.
“The expectation is very simple, we need to qualify. To win or draw,” he stated.
The club chairman also expressed confidence in the players’ ability to handle the pressure of the important fixture, pointing to the experience within the squad as a crucial advantage.
“They are professionals. Some of them have played CAF competitions before. Their experience and tactics will count,” Salami added.
Shooting Stars have continued their preparations in Tunisia as they look to overcome their opponents and keep their continental campaign alive.
For the chairman, however, the task extends beyond what happens on the pitch. He urged supporters and well-wishers back home to continue offering their prayers as the team prepares for what promises to be a demanding encounter.
“I want everyone to pray for us,” Salami appealed.
The Oluyole Warriors will be hoping to translate their preparations into a positive result when they take to the pitch, with qualification firmly at the heart of their continental ambitions.
