The initiative is part of the center’s broader efforts to contribute to the growth and popularity of Taekwondo in Nigeria.

The selected schools in Abuja, equipped with permanent Taekwondo training infrastructures, include Nigeria-Korea Model School in Piwoyi, Lugbe Road Abuja; Junior Secondary School Maitama Abuja; LEA Wuse Zone 3 Abuja; LEA Maitama Abuja; LEA Wuse Zone 2 Abuja.

Each participating school involves the training of forty students, guided by experienced Taekwondo instructors provided by the KCCN.

To enhance the students’ interest and skills, the KCCN ensures the smooth operation of the project by regularly supplying the schools with uniforms, first-aid kits, and other Taekwondo training accessories.

Additionally, the initiative includes a biennial U-15 Taekwondo championship, providing a platform for students from these schools to showcase their skills.

The most recent edition, held in November 2022 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja, was a success, and anticipation is building for the upcoming edition expected towards the conclusion of 2024.
