The Nigerian striker gave Erokspor the perfect start to the match, opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a well-taken finish that highlighted his attacking instincts.
Kayode’s early strike put the home side in control and reinforced his reputation as a consistent goal threat for the Turkish club.
The match, however, had already taken an unexpected turn earlier when A. Alkan of Bandırmaspor was sent off in the 9th minute, reducing the visitors to ten men.
Despite having a numerical advantage for most of the game, Erokspor struggled to fully capitalise on the situation.
Bandırmaspor managed to restore parity later in the contest when Douglas Tanque converted from the penalty spot, calmly placing the ball past the goalkeeper to level the score for the visitors.
Despite continued efforts from Erokspor to reclaim the lead, the hosts were unable to find their attacking rhythm against the resilient ten-man Bandırmaspor side. The visitors remained organised defensively and held firm to secure a share of the points.
For Kayode, the goal serves as another reminder of his importance to Erokspor’s attacking setup. The experienced forward has consistently delivered key moments in front of goal this season and remains one of the club’s most reliable offensive outlets.
While the result may feel like a missed opportunity given their numerical advantage, Erokspor will look to regroup in their upcoming fixtures as they continue their campaign in Turkey’s highly competitive second-tier league.
