Borussia Dortmund’s Nigerian-born attacker, Karim Adeyemi is in the news for the wrong reason, as he has been hit with a €450,000 for illegal possession of weapons, Sports247 gathered.
This comes after police officers found two prohibited weapons in his possession, following which the German national team star was fined, but will not be considered to have a criminal record.

Germany’s firearms law stipulates that illegal acquisition, possession and carrying of dangerous weapons are offences punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to three years but could be up to 10 years if violence is committed with the item.
The fine represents 60 daily wages for Adeyemi, totalling around €450,000 overall, and Chief Public Prosecutor Michael Burggräf said the penal order became binding on October 30th.
In reaction to the development, Adeyemi’s club affirmed that they emphasised that they always take ‘criminal allegations’ seriously, and such matters are discussed with personnel while ‘maintaining confidentiality,’
A reoort out of Germzny added: “The 23-year-old German right winger will be registered in the Federal Central Register, but will not be considered criminally convicted, as this only occurs after 90 daily fines.”
