Kanu wishes fans Happy Easter, urges them to stay at home

Former African footballer of the year and founder of the Kanu Heart Foundation, Kanu Nwankwo wishes well meaning Nigerians a Happy Easter celebration.

The Olympic gold medalist also went further to noted to urge everyone to stay indoors so we can combat the pandemic of the corona virus.

The former arsenal man sent this notes via his instagram page on behalf of all in Kanu Heart foundation. The Kanu Heart Foundation (KHF) is non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded by World renowned footballer, Kanu Nwankwo to help indigent Nigerian children with cardiac diseases to obtain life-saving surgeries within and outside Nigeria.

Soon after the former Inter Milan player, returned from the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996, Kanu underwent a medical examination at Inter Milan which revealed a serious
heart defect. He underwent surgery in November 1996 to replace an aortic valve and did not return to his club until April 1997.

Kanu’s experience also led to his founding the Kanu Heart Foundation, an organisation that helps predominantly young African children who suffer heart defects and whose work was expanded to provide aid for homeless children in 2008.

Kanu played for Nigeria mostly in the late 90’s and early 2000. He was instrumental in the winning or the Olympic gold medal in Atlanta USA.
