The visitors struck first against the run of play in the 13th minute, silencing the home crowd as Plateau United took an early lead. Kano Pillars responded with increased intensity and were handed a golden opportunity to restore parity in the 40th minute, but captain Rabiu Ali failed to convert from the penalty spot.

The momentum carried into the second half, and Kano Pillars completed the turnaround in the 52nd minute. Club legend Ahmed Musa powered in a decisive header to give the hosts a 2–1 lead — a landmark moment that marked his 30th NPFL goal and his first since announcing his international retirement.
Kano Pillars managed the remainder of the contest with maturity and discipline, limiting Plateau United’s attacking threat and securing all three points in front of their home supporters.
The victory reinforces Kano Pillars’ growing confidence as the NPFL season continues, with the Mohamed Dikko Stadium once again proving to be a fortress for the Sai Masu Gida.
