The 2025 Nigeria Hockey Super League came to a thrilling close in Abuja as Kaduna teams Kada Stars and Kada Queens completed a historic double, capturing both the men’s and women’s championships in emphatic fashion.
In the men’s final, Kada Stars overcame a determined Police Machine side in a tense contest that ended goalless after regulation time.
The match was decided by penalties, with Kada Stars holding their nerve to seal victory and lift the coveted trophy.

The women’s final was equally entertaining as Kada Queens outclassed Plateau Queens 2–0 to claim the national title, capping a remarkable campaign for the Kaduna contingent.
Their win underlined the state’s growing dominance in Nigerian hockey and reflected months of disciplined preparation and teamwork.
The week-long competition, organised by the Nigeria Hockey Federation (NHF) under the leadership of its president, Engr. Simon Nkom, brought together the nation’s top clubs from both the men’s and women’s divisions.
Matches were staged from November 1 to 9 in Abuja, drawing vibrant crowds and strong performances across every pool.
The men’s category featured clubs such as Niger Flickers, IGP Flickers, Police Machine, Bauchi Flickers, Plateau Tigers, and Yobe Desert Rollers. On the women’s side, Edo Queens, Plateau Queens, Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens, and IGP Babes all fought hard for national honours.
Speaking after the final whistle, Engr. Nkom congratulated the winners and praised all participating teams for displaying high levels of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship. He reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to expanding the league and promoting hockey across every region of Nigeria.
“This year’s Super League has shown the passion, unity, and potential of Nigerian hockey,” he said. “Kaduna’s success is a motivation for others, and our goal is to make next year’s edition even bigger.”
With Kaduna’s double triumph, the 2025 Nigeria Hockey Super League ended on a high note—one that showcased resilience, teamwork, and the bright future of hockey in Nigeria.
