JUST-IN: Why Messiah FC,FC Robo Warriors Yet To Resume Training

Despite the fact that both state and federal government had gradually eased the lockdown last week,some amateur and professional clubs in Lagos are yet to resume training saying that they are still waiting for directives from both Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and Lagos State Football Association LSFA before they can return to football arena.

Our correspondent who visited some notable training ground of these professional and amateur clubs in Lagos still remain shut.

In a chat with head coach of Messiah,an amateur 1,David Dosu said his team cannot train for now saying that Lagos State Football Association LSFA has not issued statement to lift the lockdown on foot ball activities in the state

“As a matter of fact and as a chairman of Ikeja football Coaches council,I cannot return to field because I am guided by the rules and regulations of football authorities. Secondly,we need to see what would happen in next few days from now.I am aware that activities are gradually coming back after almost four months of lockdown.I know that some players,coaches and club owners want to return to field,I think we need to respect the law of the land and pray for better days to come,”he said.

Commenting on how he feels about the lockdown,Dosu popularly known as Apelete said it was and still tough as a coach and urged Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to look into sport sector for evaluation.
Coach of FC Robo Warriors of Mushin who is playing in amateur II, Kazeem Alabi said his team are adhere to the rules of the football authorities noted that resuming the training now is not the best for the team.

“We cannot resume training because we are not a grassroots club and we are amateur that know the rules and guidelines of football authorities so we need to wait a little bit for government so that we can return to training without problem,”he affirmed.

The football activities were stopped on March as a result of pandemic disease that is ravaging the world presently.
