Just-In: Oshoala wins big as Osimhen, Chukwueze miss out on CAF award 2020

In a big global night of the CAF awards with little recognizance for Nigeria, Barcelona forward, Asisat Oshoala rose to pitch her country’s tent up among winners as she is declared the CAF women player of the year.

Although, Nigeria duo of Samuel Chukwueze and lille’s goal poacher Victor Osimhen lost out in the 2019 CAF award young player of the year to Achraf Hakimi, the spotlight stood out for oshoala.

Although Super Eagles were placed 3rd in the competition, it wasn’t enough to get the accolades.

Other awards include:
CAF women player of the year- Asisat Oshoala
CAF men player of the year- Sadio Mane

Women’ national team of the year- Cameron
African interclubs player of the year- Tarek Hameed
Men’s team of the year- Algeria
Goal of the year- Mahrez’s free kick against Nigeria
Women African coach of the year- Diseree Ellis
Men’s African coach of the year-Djamel Belmadi

The Egyptian football association wins federation of the year award while Mazembe Moise Katumbi wins the African Club president of the year.
