The Special Adviser, Public Enlightenment, and Special Duties to Governor Willie Obiano, Ify Obinabo has called for more empowerment for the girl child. Honorable Ify Obinabo made the call when Ex-Super Falcons Player / Coach Maureen Mmadu paid her a courtesy visit in Awka with her Media Team to intimate her about the Anambra Female Football Kiddie’s Camp project.
Honorable Ify Obinabo who regretted that many Underage girls are forced into early marriage in different parts of the country, said that the Anambra Female football Kiddies Competition with Maureen Mmadu is an Amazing initiative which will motivate the girl child to value education, sports, and life time skills, as well as enlighten parents in the areas on the need to provide their girl child with quality education and help them to nurture their God-given talents to follow their dreams.
Further speaking Ify Obinabo described Maureen visit as timely and assured of her full support, noting that Governor Willie Obiano led administration does not joke with issues that concern the girl child and expressed hope that Anambra football Kiddie’s Camp would help in the actualization of the primary objective, which is raising female leaders and role models like Maureen Mmadu amongst the girls.
Describing Ndi Anambra as talented and innovative and assured that the efforts of Ambassador Maureen Mmadu in Anambra State will not be in vain.
Responding, Ambassador Maureen Mmadu who was elated, commended Honorable Ify Obinabo for her immense support said this project would be of immense benefit for the girl child and the state at large.
