A former student of Amuwo-Odofin Community High School, near Mile 2, Lagos, Junior Anyelebechi, has come out with an emphatic declaration that Argentine ace, Lionel Messi is his football idol.
Anyalebechi, who sat for WAEC exam this year, made the disclosure during an exclusive interview with Sports247, but added that he hopes to achieve more than Messi has in his long career.
The fair-skinned youngster, who loved Civic Education most among all subjects while in school, also picked Victor Osimhen as the Nigerian star he admires, due to his passion for the country and success at club level.
The son of a retired military officer added, “I play on the left wing, but I love Messi because of his skills and Osimhen, due to how he is always determined when he’s on the field.
“I want to achieve more than what both of them have done, and I know it’s possible through the grace of God. I am also working hard to achieve my ambitions in football.
“The club I would love to play for is Chelsea of England, and I believe it will happen one day. That’s because I am already receiving good training at FROLTISH Football Academy.
“I appreciate everything they teach me there, and I am happy that gave me an award this past Saturday as the most promising player in their under-15 team.”
The up and coming lad, who hails from Oru East in Imo State, also hailed Coach Umoette Athan (aka Lapa) for giving him effective guidance towards becoming better as a professional footballer.
