Sports journalist and African women’s football expert Julie Sports has reacted to Victor Osimhen’s influential performance as Galatasaray secured qualification to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 with victory over Juventus.

Speaking after the encounter, Julie Sports praised Osimhen’s growing connection with the Galatasaray supporters but raised concerns over the team’s attacking cohesion and service to the Nigerian striker.
“I have watched Galatasaray games a few times because of Victor Osimhen, and I can clearly see that the fans really love him. He has won their hearts.
But one thing I don’t like about this Galatasaray team is that some players don’t pass the ball to him enough, even when he makes good runs or is in a good position to score.
I don’t know if it is jealousy or something else, but I don’t understand why they don’t try to create chances for their main striker. They did the same thing again last night.”
The journalist advised Osimhen to consider a move to a more competitive environment where he would receive better service and face elite opposition on a weekly basis.
“My advice to Victor Osimhen is to move to another club where teammates will create more chances and give him better assists when he is in good positions or making runs.
Galatasaray is a big club in Turkey, but Osimhen should be playing in a more competitive league. He needs to play in one of the top leagues in the world, especially the Premier League or La Liga, where he can compete with the best players every week.
He also deserves teammates who will support him and help him succeed.”
Osimhen’s performance against Juventus once again underlined his importance to Galatasaray’s European campaign, even as debates continue about his long-term future and the level best suited to maximize his talents.
