Judo Federation President Commends NSC, NOC for Resolving Gymnastics Federation Crisis — Seeks Similar Approach for Judo Affairs

The President of the Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF), Dr. Musa Oshodi, has applauded the National Sports Commission (NSC), the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), and other key stakeholders for successfully resolving the long-standing impasse within the Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Dr. Oshodi commended the fair and transparent manner adopted in settling the dispute, describing it as a model for good governance in Nigerian sports administration.

“Every aspect of the matter was carefully considered and treated on its merits, culminating in a just and fair resolution acceptable to all parties involved,” Dr. Oshodi stated.

He also offered an apology to NSC Director-General Hon. Bukola Olopade for any miscommunication that may have led to earlier misunderstandings concerning the Judo Federation.

Looking forward, Dr. Oshodi expressed optimism that the same collaborative and transparent approach will be extended to address ongoing challenges within the Judo Federation.

“I am confident that under the capable leadership of Alhaji Shehu Dikko and Hon. Bukola Olopade, the issues within the Judo Federation will be resolved swiftly and fairly. Their commitment to accountability and reform is already yielding results across Nigerian sports,” he added.

It will be recalled that Hon. Bukola Olopade convened a crucial stakeholders’ meeting on October 15, 2025, aimed at addressing governance and administrative issues affecting both the Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria and the Judo Federation of Nigeria.

The meeting marked another step in the NSC’s broader effort to strengthen transparency, harmony, and professionalism within Nigeria’s sporting federations.
