Joshua Has Taken British Boxing Higher – Showtime Boss

Nigerian-born heavyweight boxing champion of the world, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua has been described as the man who has succeed in taking British boxing to a higher level, following his long line of victories in the roped square.

 

With ‘AJ’ heading out for his first title bout in United States of America, against Jarrell Miller on June 1, the chief executive of globally renowned promotions outfit, Showtime Sports, Stephen Espinoza says Joshua has set new marks that would be hard to equal.

Sports247.ng can report that Espinoza was rolling lyrical over the Olympics 2012 gold medalist after his company sealed a contract with the world champion, who fights under Britain’s flag.

Espinoza said he was happy to see Joshua sign a multi-fight deal with his US-based network, as he looks to sell himself across the Atlantic.

Showtime will show the fight live and screen more of Joshua’s bouts in future as he hopes to become a unified top weight champ of the world.

 

Espinoza stated: “British Boxing is at an all-time high. There are more UK champions that at any point in history.
“Boxing is such a global sport (and) Joshua has global potential. We have featured Kell Brook, George Groves, Billy Joe Saunders.”
