Joshua Describes His December 19th Fight With Jake Paul As ‘Mega Show’

Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua has tagged his December 19th fight with social media celebrity, Jake Paul as a ‘mega show,’ Sports247 reports.

The 36-year-old two-time champion, who has come under fire from mainstream boxing gurus for accepting the fight, declared that it is a major comeback for him after a long absence from the roped square.

‘AJ’ spoke in the wake of Monday’s official confirmation of the bout, which is billed to hold at Kaseya Center in Miami, USA, with a £140m prize that will be split between both fighters.

However, an official of British Boxing Board of Control said the controversial clash will not be recognised in England, as it has been largely dubbed ‘an exhibition bout.’

Details of the agreement revealed that it will have eight-rounds, each with three minutes, the fighters using 10oz gloves and a weight limit of 245 pounds.

That is in contrast with how Joshua has weighed more than 250 pounds in each of his last five fights, while Paul weighed around just 200 pounds for his last bout in June.

It will also be Joshua’s first time back in the ring since he was defeated by fellow-Nigerian-born British heavyweight, Daniel Dubois 14 months ago.

Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua sounded excited about the upcoming bout, as he declared: “I took some time out, and I’m coming back with a mega show. It’s a big opportunity for me.

“Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected.

“Mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”
