Jose Peseiro Accepts Pay Cut To Pursue AFCON Victory As Super Eagles Coach

Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, has revealed that his decision to accept a pay cut and extend his tenure as head coach was motivated by his strong ambition to secure victory in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.

Peseiro’s original one-year contract with a reported monthly salary of $70,000 had expired in June, but he agreed to continue leading the Super Eagles under a new six-month contract.

Speaking in an interview with Brila FM, the Portuguese coach emphasized his dedication to achieving the goal of winning the AFCON title. Jose Peseiro expressed his commitment to working with his coaching staff and players to attain this significant milestone.

“Me and my staff did everything in order to stay here to train these players and reach the big goal, win the AFCON title,” Peseiro stated.
