Sports247 has earlier reported that there have been some distress calls from Nigerians leaving abroad wanting to come back home amidst the lock down because of the covid19 pandemic and John Ogu was at the fore of this agitation. Ahmed Musa plies his trade with Al-Nassr while John Ogu does business with Al-Adalah both in Saudi Arabia.

The news was made public by John Ogu on his instagram page posting photos and videos of him and his family along with that of Ahmed Musa and family in a private jet and commenting “thank God for journey mercies.” On 7th of April, sports247 reported that John Ogu had expressed his desire to come back to Nigeria with a tweeter post “can they just open our border for us to get into our country? What’s going on? I am tired! ” and finally the federal government has granted his request.

The former Hapoel Be’er Sheva player expressed his displeasure and dissatisfaction with staying at home in another land and said he was tired of it already. it’s close to a month now since the Nigeria has been on lock down and the world in general is experiencing a slow down of activities.

The duo are integral part of the present Super Eagles team. Both were selected for the last World Cup outing as well for the last edition of the African Cup of Nations. Ahmed Musa currently is the captain of the side while John Ogu is a formidable force in the Nigerian midfield.

As it stands, Saudi Arabia has more than 9000 cases of the corona virus, having 27 death and 1390 people recovering from the illness. On the other hand, Nigeria’s case is barely 600, killing 19 and having 166 recovered cases.

It could be believed that the midfielder’s birthday also spurs his coming to Nigeria because John Ogu will be a year older on Monday, 20th April 2020 and will indeed be happy to have come to Nigeria before his birthday.
