Joel Obi’s New Coach Promises Chievo Revival

Chievo Verona of Italy midfielder, Joel Chukwuma Obi could be in for a resurgence of fortunes at his Serie A club, as the team’s new gaffer, Mimmo di Carlo has promised an instant revival for the side.

Sport247.ng reports that Di Carlo replaces Giampiero Ventura, who resigned last weekend and, after declaring that he is delighted to take charge of The Flying Donkeys, Obi’s new coach has raised optimism.

It is Di Carlo’s third stint at The Bentegodi, which Obi joined in the summer, and the new man in charge, who previously enjoyed spells with the club from November 2008 to May 2010 and June 2011 to October 2012, has given the Nigerian and his teammates cause to stay upbeat.

Di Carlo said: “I want to thank the President, director and club for giving me the opportunity to come back to Serie A.

“(I am happy to be) in a place where I experienced happy and important years in both my growth and that of Chievo.

“Within me has sparked everything I needed. We are in November, there is time to make a difference in the table.”
