Iwobi Receives Fresh Support From Ian Wright

Arsenal of England attacker, Alex Iwobi has received support from one of his club’s legends, Ian Wright, who believes the Super Eagles star should not be scolded by The Gunners’ fans.

In the wake of another gallant display and goal from Iwobi last weekend, sports247.ng can report that Wright is impressed by the lad’s form, but he remembers how the youngster was lambasted after the previous tie.

Indeed, Iwobi was found wanting for his all-round dull efforts and giving away a goal in the 3-1 loss away to Manchester City, but he got back on top of his game on Saturday against Huddersfield Town.

Wright, though, reckons that Gunners’ fans ought not ridicule their own players, but suggests the lads should be motivated to regain form even after the have a bad game or two.

As if in agreement with Wright, Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has kept his faith in Iwobi despite the constant criticism who has started 15 games in the English Premier League this season.

The club legend would go on to reason that lads like Iwobi need to be fully supported emotionally, psychologically and structurally when they slip up, as he charged the fans to always stay rooted behind their icons.

Wright said: “We need to reset and get behind the boys again, especially people like Alex Iwobi.
“He needs it more than anybody now. He tries to be progressive when he plays. It’s embarrassing and I feel sorry for him.”
