Iwobi, Iheanacho, Ndidi ready to return to football as UK government meet to consider league resumption

There could be a ray of hope for football to return as the United Kingdom Government are set to negotiate the return of the premiere league and other footballing competitions in the coming weeks.

United Kingdom government will this week meet with leading sports organisations with the hope of resuming competitions within weeks. It will be first of regular meeting between the UK’s Chief Medical Officer and senior medical directors of the major sports, according to BBC. Few weeks ago, the corona virus pandemic hit UK which made all aspect of activity in the country were halted. The UK is among the countries in Europe there the corona virus has recorded a lot of success. It is said that the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will also be informed on the meetings.

Though if football must go on, medical precautionary measure like Social distancing, hygiene standards, testing and the numbers of people allowed in venues must be adhere to. And these will be the main talking points of the meeting.

It is an important step for the Premier League who are organising themselves for the best case scenario return date of June 8.

It is widely accepted that any upcoming matches will have to be played behind closed doors.
