Although her team secured third place, she expressed immense satisfaction with the journey.

“It was a remarkable experience, despite our third-place finish. Facing larger and stronger teams was no easy feat, but all credit goes to God,” Victoria recounted with enthusiasm.

Reflecting on Delta State’s consistent success in youth games, she noted that the state has gained recognition for producing exceptional athletes.

The secret, she believes, lies in identifying and nurturing talent at a young age, allowing athletes to showcase their abilities.

“Delta State has been recognized as a state that wins lots of medals at every youth game. They are known for raising good athletes. Picking them up at a young age not when they are old so they can showcase their talents. I think this is the secret to the victory.”

Victoria, a two-time participant in the National Youth Games, highlighted the valuable lessons she had learned from the tournament.

She emphasized the importance of building friendships and expanding horizons by exploring new sports like scrabble and judo, which she encountered for the first time.

When asked about their preparations for the next year, Victoria expressed a strong desire to win a gold medal, especially by overcoming their formidable rival, Kaduna State.

She pledged to intensify her training efforts and apply newfound strategies to enhance her team’s performance against their opponents.
