“It Is Not Easy”- Matthew Tolulope Applauds Citadel of Grace’s U16 Triumph In Kidsport Charity Cup

Victorious Coach Praises Team's Dedication, Highlights Consistency as Key to Success; Vows Continued Improvement

Matthew Tolulope, the coach of Citadel of Grace, shared his thoughts on the team’s triumphant victory in the U16 category of the Kidsport Charity Cup Season 13.

In an interview with Sports247, Coach Tolulope expressed great pleasure in being crowned champions, emphasizing the challenges overcome in the competitive tournament.

“It is a great pleasure for our team to be the champions of the Season 13 edition. It is not easy, out of 6 teams or more, it is not easy,” Tolulope remarked, acknowledging the tough competition faced by Citadel of Grace.

Despite the challenges, the team’s mindset was geared towards winning, and with hard work, they achieved their goal.

Having participated in the Kidsport Charity Cup over the years, Citadel of Grace has a history of emerging as champions, although they faced a setback in the finals last year.

Coach Tolulope highlighted the team’s determination, saying, “We came with the mindset that we are going to win, and with hard work, it happened.”

While commending the team’s overall performance, Tolulope emphasized the need for continuous improvement, stating,

“We performed extremely well, but we still need to work more so that we will not go down on performance. We will not relent. The more we play, the more we have challenges, so we need to keep improving every time.”

Praising the player who scored a brace, Tolulope revealed, “He has been my player since he was a child. I am not surprised because he trains regularly and he is consistent.

Consistency is key, and he can develop to any length. It is my joy for him to keep developing. So I am not surprised.”

Regarding the team’s performance, Tolulope commended the entire team, stating, “As the team generally, they did extremely well.”

Despite the victory, Tolulope expressed the belief that more goals could have been added if there had been more time, indicating the team’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
