The Welfare Director of Island AllStars Club (IASC), Obinna Duribe is happy that he won table tennis and snooker titles at the group’s ongoing annual multi-sports competition, then declared that he will work harder in order to do better next year.
Duribe, who represented Team Lugna in both events as well as football, disclosed in an exclusive interview with Sports247 that he enjoyed the day’s activities to the fullest, though his side settled for a draw.

“It was a great day that also had an exciting game of football. Although we came out with a draw, I was privileged to be part of the team that participated in other competitions.
“By the special grace of God, I emerged as the winner for table tennis and snooker. So, to the glory of God, I was given two awards,” Duribe said.
He then showered encomiums on the club’s officials for recognising his efforts and to Sports247 for promoting their activities with media coverage, then gave an assurance that he will work harder in order to win more awards next year.
“I deeply appreciate the club for making these awards possible for me. I also appreciate Sports247 Ballers for everything they do for Island All Stars. I pray that God will continue to bless all of us.
“I never thought I was going to emerge as the champion for table tennis and snooker. Last year, I was the third runner-up, and I knew that I had to keep practising in order to get better, while hoping that a day like this would come.
“We usually have our annual tournaments by this time of the year, and I tried to prepare for it as much as I could. Now, I can see that hard work really pays, and I hope to do more next season,” Duribe enthused.
