The Island All Stars Sports Club, Incorporated, secured a narrow 1–0 win over All Stars International, Surulere in a much-anticipated return leg friendly, strengthening a long-standing relationship between the two veteran football clubs.
The match, which took place amidst camaraderie and celebration, followed an earlier first-leg victory in Surulere. Speaking after the encounter, Director of Sports Ike Okorafor highlighted the deeper significance of the event beyond the result on the pitch.

“Today is not just about winning,” Okorafor told Sports247. “It’s about the fraternity between our clubs. We’ve shared years of mutual cooperation, not only in football but also in Waka football. What matters most is the unity and healthy relationship we continue to nurture.”
Reflecting on the collective strength of the club, Okorafor drew from cultural wisdom to underline the power of collaboration:
“When one person cooks for the crowd, they might not have enough. But when the crowd cooks for one person, it will be too much for one to finish. That’s the kind of strength we have when we come together.”
The Director, now in his second term, expressed pride in the club’s diverse and accomplished membership, made up of captains of industries and professionals from various fields.
“When these men come together, what we do is mighty—great is even an understatement.”
Looking ahead, Okorafor touched on the club’s future, particularly under the newly inaugurated administration. After a record-breaking year that saw over 100 new inductees, he stressed the importance of stabilisation and integration.
“This administration has a big task—to unite, stabilise, and push us further,” he said. “We’re building our permanent site, and we need everyone on board. With the support we’ve always had, I believe they will succeed.”
With strong leadership, unity, and clear goals, Island All Stars continues to set the pace in veteran football, proving that friendship and vision can go hand-in-hand with competitive spirit.
