Infrastructure Meets Empowerment: SSA Adeboye Joins VP Shettima and Wike At Commissioning Of Bwari Dual Carriageway

In a show of intergovernmental collaboration and commitment to infrastructure-led development, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Adeboye, joined Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the official commissioning of the newly dualized Ushafa–War College/Army Checkpoint Road and other ancillary routes in Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

The project, which forms part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is aimed at boosting connectivity, promoting security, and opening new pathways for economic and youth development in the FCT.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Adeboye described the road commissioning as not just an infrastructural milestone, but a “gateway to empowerment,” particularly for young people. He emphasized that quality infrastructure enhances access to education, sports facilities, and vocational opportunities — vital elements in grassroots development.

“This road is more than just concrete and asphalt; it represents access — access to schools, sports fields, vocational hubs, and ultimately, to a better life. I commend President Tinubu for his unwavering vision and leadership, and also appreciate the roles played by the FCT Minister and Bwari Council in making this possible,” Adeboye stated.

Also in attendance were top government dignitaries, including the Vice President of Nigeria, H.E. Kashim Shettima, who praised the pace and quality of infrastructural development under the Tinubu administration, and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, whose ministry spearheaded the execution of the project.

The dualized road is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve security around the military zone, and stimulate growth across local communities.

Hon. Adeboye further reiterated the federal government’s commitment to leveraging infrastructure for broader social impact, particularly through initiatives that target sports, education, and youth development across the 774 local government areas in the country.

The event marks yet another step toward the federal government’s goal of driving inclusive growth and connecting underserved communities through robust, people-centered projects.
